I have already calculated the table sizes for each of the needed scenes, including the dungeons: all will fit within a 4'x8' table, after making some minor compressions on the narrow sides. Now all I need is the time to paint up the Giants (the Hill Giants are done the Stone, and Fire Giants are assembled D&D vinyl figures will stand in for King Snurre, and the necessary Cloud Giants), make up the wooden fort, and the styrofoam walls for the Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl, and the dungeon scenery. I found the necessary figures, for very affordable prices. I downloaded the G1-G2-G3 module, and the BattleSystem Skirmish rules set from, for $4.95 USD each, which will allow me to play out the modules in miniature.

#WORLDWORKSGAMES ASSEMBLY SERIES#
I thought I would share this review, as so many of us fantasy gamers have likely played out the Giant Series of modules, years ago, in our distant youth. This also allows me to vary the angle each figure holds their weapon at, which gives some variety. Both figures come in two pieces, with the right hands, holding weapons, to be glued at the wrists, where each features an arm band, nicely concealing the joins. The detail is very good, and the design is so similar to the MM illustration. The Fire Giant figures (GRI-1205) exhibited minimal flash, and are copyrighted 2000. Both of my copies were leaning too far back, to stand safely, relying upon their molded bases, but since they are cast from lead, bending them to stand upright, was easy, and no cracking occurred. After unpacking them, cleaning them (very little flash), I found them to be quite excellent! The Hulking Ogre (GRI-1024) figures have a copyright date of 1993, but it is an excellent design, and they are remarkably clean of flash, with decent detail.

These figures came quickly, via USPS Priority Mail. These figures look surprisingly accurate, in sculpting design, for Fire Giants, and Stone Giants, from the 2nd Ed. The Black Ogre Giant with Club figure, is 60mm tall, while the Hulking Ogre is 55mm tall, and much smaller in girth. The other lairs will be constructed from foam carved to resemble dungeons/ice/etc. I will be using the WorldWorks Legend of Skull Cove set, to create the Steading of the Hill Giant Chieftain. I have 54mm, plastic, Cave Men figures for Hill Giants, plastic, 54mm, Vikings for Frost Giants, and now the Grim Reaper Castings figures, GRI-1205 & GRI-1024, as Fire Giants and Stone Giants, respectively. I purchased some of the Grim Reaper Casting figures for an upcoming project, wherein I plan to play out the classic 1st Ed.
